Even while she was studying English at UC Santa Barbara, Emily knew that she was destined for the world of event planning. Having a natural skill set for the trade, both meticulously organized and exceedingly social, she graduated and set out on her mission to plan the perfect party. She spent the following ten years professionally planning hundreds of high-end, successfully-executed events. During this time she also earned her MBA from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School. While she loved her job, she found herself most inspired by event decor and especially drawn to the floral arrangements.

Throughout her career she worked closely with event florists, learned the trade, and eventually did floral design for friends and family on the side, knowing one day, she would combine her event planning experience with her business acumen and start a floral design company. In 2008, Emily took a break from event planning and started a family. After having two beautiful daughters, she decided to get back to her passions…flowers and events.

In 2011, Emily started Urban Garden Floral & Event Design. Since opening her doors, she has thoroughly enjoyed listening to her clients hopes and visions, creating beautiful and unique floral arrangements and one-of-a-kind event spaces and most of all, making sure those clients leave life’s most important events satisfied.
